Common questions

Can I play without an account?

Yes. Free Play is open to everyone β€” all seven games, unlimited, with no account and no download. An account is only needed for the daily Competitive challenges, which are what earn points, build streaks and place you on the monthly leaderboard.

How do daily challenges work?

Four games β€” Wordle, Sudoku, Solitaire and Connections β€” get a fresh challenge every day at 00:00 UTC, and every player worldwide gets the same puzzles. Finishing one earns points toward your monthly score. You can play them in any order, and you do not have to finish all four.

How does the prize pool work?

The reward pool grows with every challenge played, and the top players on the monthly leaderboard are set to share it. The pool is not funded yet and no payout has ever been made. How it is calculated is set out in the Terms of Service.

What happens if I fail a challenge?

You keep a small participation score and lose the points the attempt was worth. You may retry a failed daily challenge once to recover part of them, though a retry cannot earn the full first-attempt score. Leaving the tab during a competitive challenge also counts as a failed attempt.

When are prizes paid?

Monthly. The top players at the end of each calendar month are set to share that month’s pool, paid from the 1st. No payout has ever been made; payments begin once the pool is funded.
